ART WORKSHOP NOTES

Wendy Parkyn Workshop
(25th September 2018)
SEA, WAVES, CLOUDY & SUNNY CONDITIONS

Wendy began by demonstrating  several methods that she uses to get effects in her watercolour work, these included ~  Wet-in-Wet   Dry Brush   Pallet Knife   Candle Wax   Sandpaper

NB ~ The Paper used must have a tooth ~ so smooth papers do not work

Having given the group time to experiment with the use of these methods, Wendy then went on to demonstrate how these techniques can be combined to produce a Seascape.
Starting with a Graduated Wash for the Sky (by adding water to the mix)  then a lower Wash for the Sea (Dry Brush was also used here) then for the Large Rock, an area was painted then worked using a Pallet Knife
Then the  Foreground Waves achieved using a combination of Wash, Candle Wax and Dry Brush and Sandpaper

Then it was the turn of the group to work on their own (using Images provided by Wendy) to produce their own Seascapes
using the techniques show to us.
Wendy was always on hand to assist and answer questions

A followup Workshop took place On November 6th
